My hubby and I had a wonderful time in Mexico! I received lots of compliments on both this and this, which made me feel so great since they were both first time projects for me!
But, I have to say, vacation is over and boy don't I know it already! Not only did I have to return to work today, but I also had to get down to business on several upcoming projects I have in the works. Later in the week I will be sharing a super cute pink camo / green minky blankie I made for a baby shower, but first I wanted to share some fabrics I am going to be using for a super fun custom order for a 3 year old's birthday party in March. I've been asked to make the party favors!

Sewing is a lot like life...sure, there are patterns for just about everything, but in order to love what you do, or love what you make, you have to change the pattern to make it your own regardless if the change is a fraction of an inch or the length of a yard. And more often that not, those choices you make to change the pattern do not work out exactly the way you hope. It can be frustrating and challenging, and sometimes you have have to rip it all apart at the seams and start completely over. Which requires patience. A lot of patience. But in doing so, you create something that is far more rewarding, and far more beautiful, then what you started with.

Sorry to hear that vacation is over...but hopefully you had a great time. Both your wristlet and shirt were awesome, no wonder you got lots of compliments!! Can't wait to see what you are whipping up with the fabric :)
ReplyDeleteParty favors??? Is this something new or something you've created before?? The crayon rolls would be a GREAT favor....now you've got me thinking.
