Sewing is a lot like life...sure, there are patterns for just about everything, but in order to love what you do, or love what you make, you have to change the pattern to make it your own regardless if the change is a fraction of an inch or the length of a yard. And more often that not, those choices you make to change the pattern do not work out exactly the way you hope. It can be frustrating and challenging, and sometimes you have have to rip it all apart at the seams and start completely over. Which requires patience. A lot of patience. But in doing so, you create something that is far more rewarding, and far more beautiful, then what you started with.

Are you a Brave Girl Yet?

Are you a Brave Girl yet? I first heard about this awesome little dose of daily inspiration and affirmation from Heather at Blessed Little Nest when she posted about one of the A Little Birdie Told Me - Daily Truths that really spoke to her and after reading it I instantly knew I needed to sign up. And, I cannot tell you how glad I am that I did.

Her e is one of the many, many daily truths that has spoken to me recently....
--------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Unique Girl,

Everyone has a different journey. So different, in fact, that new lessons can be learned every single day from each other's journeys. Your friends' journey are different from yours. Your children's are different, too. Your parents also went on an entirely different journey than the one that is meant for you.

That is why it is so important not to compare, criticize, or complain. We often have the tendency to compare the worst of what we are living through with the best of what others are enjoying. Everyone has the exact path, with the exact battles and the exact joys that are meant for them. We all learn in different ways, and we can all learn so much from each other, too.

So live YOUR life. Love YOUR life. Make the most of YOUR life. And whenever you have the chance to meet another fellow traveler along the road of life, lend a helping hand whenever you can. An encouraging smile or a kind word or two. Be happy when good things happen to others and show compassion when difficult things come along. Remind those you know that ALL of it is good. ALL of it.

All of it is meant four our growth and our ultimate joy.

Keep being the fabulous YOU that YOU are.

xoxo

  1. This was the line that stood out to me - so true:

"We often have the tendency to compare the worst of what we are living through with the best of what others are enjoying."

Just be happy for others and figure out what makes US have happy times too!
