Sewing is a lot like life...sure, there are patterns for just about everything, but in order to love what you do, or love what you make, you have to change the pattern to make it your own regardless if the change is a fraction of an inch or the length of a yard. And more often that not, those choices you make to change the pattern do not work out exactly the way you hope. It can be frustrating and challenging, and sometimes you have have to rip it all apart at the seams and start completely over. Which requires patience. A lot of patience. But in doing so, you create something that is far more rewarding, and far more beautiful, then what you started with.

Here's How It Turned Out!

Remember the cute pink camo fabric I picked up a few weeks ago?
Here's how it turned out!
The pink camo minky is paired with a mint green minky, making it SO, SO SOFT!
My sister requested this fabric for one of her oldest and dearest friends that is
going to be a grandmother for the first time! I hope she loves it!
I also will be putting this cute pink jungle blankie in the mail for a
special couple that is adopting for the first time in February!
This one is made from super soft flannel, making it also super snuggly!

Making gifts for others is just one more reason why I love to sew!
Especially gifts for sweet little babies!

  1. Does the mint green have raised little bumps on it, too? Little kids will love that!!! Any sort of texture, sensory thing like that will have a kiddo falling in love with it. That jungle fabric is darling.

  3. Very cute! Any tips for making the blanket with minky? I use it in my bib/burp rag sets all the time, but when I have used it to back a blanket it bunches really bad.
